Tinnitus — Returning Vets’ #1 Medical Issue and Growing
Tinnitus is the number one service-connected disability for American veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the American Tinnitus Association (ATA). The number of cases has grown at an astounding rate — by 15% for the last five years. At the end of 2010, more than 744,000 vets received disability compensation for tinnitus.
